Kymera International Streamlines Data Management and Consolidation with OneStream
Kymera International is a specialty materials manufacturing company that produces metal powders for industrial and chemical applications. As the business navigated ongoing acquisitions and a transition to a new ERP system, the company faced rising complexity in data management, consolidation, and security. Its corporate accounting team needed a better way to bring together data from multiple sources while maintaining accuracy, control, and usability.
MindStream Analytics helped Kymera strengthen its OneStream environment so the company could reduce heavy manual preparation, improve process visibility, and support more reliable consolidation and reporting across entities.
The Challenge:
Kymera’s data-loading and mapping processes were a major challenge. With multiple data sources and dimensions that needed to be mapped, the ERP transition was expected to be a multi-year effort. That meant the team was spending significant time manipulating data in Excel before it could be loaded into OneStream, creating inefficiency and increasing the risk of errors.
Security and workflow visibility also created problems. Because Kymera had a complex security structure and a non-standard management hierarchy shaped by multiple acquisitions, it was difficult to clearly visualize and manage processes. The company needed a better workflow structure to support security requirements and make responsibilities easier to understand.
Data consolidation was another concern. According to Kymera’s auditors, consolidation controls were a weak point at the start of the implementation process. The company needed stronger consolidation processes, clearer drill-down visibility, and better audit support so teams could confidently validate results across entities and source systems.
The Solution
MindStream Analytics enhanced Kymera’s OneStream setup with better workflows, stronger mappings, and more reusable reporting. A detailed workflow hierarchy was developed for the various entities, making it easier to apply security measures, manage processes, and meet specific operational needs across the organization.
MindStream also built out various data sources to bring in fixed source files and developed mapping requirements that eliminated the need for manual manipulation of source data in Excel before loading it into OneStream. Numerous mapping issues were resolved so the system could capture a wider range of scenarios and allow new accounts to be added more smoothly.
To improve reporting consistency, MindStream recreated cube view reports and removed reports that were not delivering value. Reusable parameters were established so users could use the same cube views in different ways for workflow processes and standard review. Additional cube views were also created for loading statistical data, including product volume and headcount reports.

The Result
The improved OneStream environment helped Kymera successfully load and validate all of its data. The company gained the ability to view consolidated results for all entities in a single location, while also making it easier for new users to take over responsibilities with clear workflow and security processes already in place.
Kymera also improved audit tracking by creating stronger drill-down visibility from top-level consolidated results to source data. This gave the company better control over consolidation and reporting while helping address audit concerns that had existed earlier in the implementation process.
Overall, the project streamlined data management, strengthened process consistency, and gave Kymera a more scalable foundation for operating in a multi-entity environment during ERP transition and continued growth.
